Horse that i've done for Majapahit online, this is actually appears on Majapahit Online trailer maybe you not notice it since its only appears for 10 seconds LOL.
I did draw several horses, but black one is my favorite.

This is the full screen of my digital painting that included those horses XD, a bit dark because the scene is in the night.

Steampunk Robot and few tutorial

Apparently i've done this for Carotene, collection artwork of graduation student of Carrot Academy but i've change my mind and decide this art will be used for DZ Magazine Special Edition.
I don't think this is my Masterpiece, i guess i can made something better than this, but here i'll show WIP of this pic.



Its not difficult to made this picture anyway, all you need to do is giving more details on lineart.
As you can see first you draw a draft, sketch, and then start to draw lineart. At column three, you should separated your lineart from background layer, colouring the lineart with brown, and add yellow colour for base.
Start to added basic colour in layer below lineart's layer. And then adding secondary colour AKA shadow, adding some colour details like few lighting colour at separated layer upper basic colour layer.
And latest touch, give simple background art, and then adding pattern.
Its done :)

Pandawa

I remember that this is my first project that involved Wayang characters. Its shame i know but i really never know well any wayang characters or their background story, yes i know Arjuna, yes i know Gatotkaca, yes i know Semar, Petruk and Gareng (the last two names i know from Petruk-Gareng Indonesia comic, an adult comic done by Tatang S), but i don't know who their father? who their mother? etc so i really glad taken this project that made me in love with Wayang stories and their characters.

I choosed Pandawa because they are pretty popular and its not too hard to search in-depth encyclopedia about them in internet. I know people will gave me that 'look' because i took popular subject, but i don't care since its really ironic for such popular figures i didn't know anything about them.


I made this on Desain Komikasi Visual Subject, where i choose some subject and put them to many media.
I choose to made tote bag, t-shirt, bookmarks, calendar, cellphone voucher, postcards, pins/buttons, file holder, and custome brochure.

If you opened the brochure, you can find profile of each Pandawa's characters. I kinda like this design though its a bit hard to opening it.

Highlight on Poscards set

Each postcards contains Pandawa's characters that explain the meaning of their simbolic personalities such as:

Yudhistira: SUSETYO Seriously leading the others four.
Bima : SANTOSA Strongly and determinedly protecting Pandawa.
Arjuna : BENER who was alert to keep the truth
Nakula : PINTER clever and skillful. No goal could be reached without a skill.
Sadewa : SUSILA & TATAKRAMA accomplished everything with the principle at high morality.

And i forgot to mention about the calendar. Its mini calendar consist 4 monthly means only have 3 pictures in it, each picture have 4 months in it.
Every pictures i named "Sangkan, Paraning, Dumadi"
What is Sangkan Paraning Dumadi? There many ways to explain this but shorty its about birth of human, the meaning of their life and existence towards death or nothingness and complete peacefullness.
Its kinda difficult subject anyway hahahaha, but i think its a bit like Buddhism? complete the circle of life and reach nirvana.

Aaaanyway, i got many new experience and study because of this, i hope someday i got another project about Wayang again :)

Meaning of Rough Sketch

If you check my portfolio, you will found robot concept art that i create for comic (dropped sadly, because me and the writer didn't have same idea on it). To be honest, i like to see the sketch design than clean version (this goes same for every concept artist that i like).
Maybe because they put their personalities more in their sketchy design than clean version.

Deviantart and Fandom world

Updating this blog again, since my friend suggested me to put my Deviantart link i guess that wasn't a bad idea.
My deviantart link mostly full with fanart from many fandom, its a site where i don't need to think what should i draw today, just draw what i likes. Drawing fanart from many fandom like American Comic, Manga, Movie, TV series or others are my guilty pleasure, its really fun to not think about bad effect for drawing fanarts than originals, drawing a characters that i like, scene that i adore, and making many more things from fandom, so if you don't mind about this, feel free to visit :)

People somehow disliking fanarts and made that like a bad things that made artist not improving.
Half of them are probably true, especially if you never try to growing your own idea, but if you can managing your way to improve your art, you also can grow from drawing fanart.

People start drawing first time by imitating object or other people artworks, so i think its good thing to draw something from fandom sometimes.

I myself start to put interest on drawing because of Mari-chan manga ^^, how about you?

When The Flowers Never Dance Again

This one is submission for WACOM competition, i like the concept really, but i think i did this half hearted since i notice some flaw, and poor composition and fail human structure LOL. I promise myself that i will remake this picture into a better one.



Let see the failed human body part once more, lets flip this art vertically and made it b/w to see more fail, yeah see that?
Too much muscle on those ballerina hands lol, ballerina indeed have a muscles but not that muscular, also the feet look short orz, and those hand who hold a scissors? fail fingers....so much fail *facepalm*
Yeah this is the result when i did artwork rushed and quick, without noticing many failed things that i've done.



Speak about WACOM competition, did everyone know the theme is "Paradox"?. Though all the winners are amazing, i think paradox theme is too large and too complex to be a single theme.

You will see random art with so much different there from romance fantasy to children book style fantasy, mecha, surrealist, etc. This make me wonder, from what base that the jury pick the winner? skills? themes? or else?

Emily Autumn and my friend birthday

I draw Emily Autumn for my lovely friend, Maxx for his birthday gift.
Printing in postcard, i almost worried that this picture will be damaged but its doesn't, thank God....


Who is Emily Autumn? My friend introduce me to her amazing music. She is singer, violin player, illustrator, she is an artist!
Mostly her music type is somehow celtic, somehow victorian gothic alternative, and somehow she just playing instrumental.
I like everything about her, from her beautiful red hair, clothes, style and her talent. One of my favorite person.

Just made this for fun, i like shoes but i'm not a collectors (more like hat and bag's fan). Since i still don't know which one is better, so i'll just put these pics together (which one is better anyway?)

Myth and else...

Its already a month since last posting. I think i should posting often in here.
BTW i never thought that my book MYTH that i sold at STGCC will be sold out. MYTH actually a book about Indonesian Mythical Creature.



Lets say that i made this book for overseas buyer, i want to introduce Indonesian Mythical Creature that people seems don't know. They already know Japan, Europe, and other Asian mythologies creature but only few know about Indonesian one.
But it seems the one who interested more about this are Indonesian people themself.



Re-printed this book for second time. I amazed....Good God, thank you very much

Still in Singapore for Singapore Toys Games Comics Convention 2011 and~ holiday, i'm not bring any device to get online, even my cellphone is broke, just got online, coz hostel that i stayed in have connection. Tommorrow will going back to Jakarta.
